MY VISION FOR FOUNTAIN VALLEY

My goal is simple: Safe Schools and Happy Kids. I believe in a ‘Schools First’ approach where every decision—from budget allocation to curriculum design—is made with one question in mind: ‘Does this help our students thrive?’ By combining 31 years of educational leadership with a commitment to fiscal transparency and parent partnership, we can build a district that serves every child, every day.

A LIFETIME OF SERVICE

I am not just an administrator; I am a teacher, a father, and a neighbor. Over my 31-year career—rising from the classroom to serve as Chief of Staff at the Orange County Department of Education—I have learned what it takes to lead.

But my most important role is at home. As an adoptive father of five and foster parent to eleven, I understand the unique challenges families face. Whether leading worship at church for 28 years or mentoring college students at my dinner table every Friday, my life has been dedicated to serving the next generation.

THE CORE MISSION

Focused on students, guided by experience, and committed to safe, successful schools for every family.

We are implementing the ‘Schools First’ initiative, which combines physical security upgrades (cameras, lighting) with a comprehensive mental health ecosystem to ensure every student feels safe, supported, and ready to learn.

We are shifting from rote memorization to ‘Deep Learning’ strategies. By expanding STEM, AI, and AP course offerings, we are equipping students with the critical thinking skills needed for the careers of tomorrow.

We ensure tax dollars reach the classroom through ‘Classroom First’ budgeting and proactive infrastructure maintenance. We are committed to radical transparency, keeping parent councils fully informed on financial decisions.

Parents are partners, not obstacles. Through Parent Advisory Boards and a weekly ‘Open Door Policy,’ we ensure that families have a direct seat at the table in shaping the policies that affect their children.

We prioritize ‘life readiness’ over just test scores. Through expanded Dual Enrollment partnerships and real-world internships with local firms, we give students a head start on both university and the workforce.
