Dennis has shifted the academic focus from simple memorization to “Deep Learning,” a strategy that encourages students to understand the interconnections between subjects rather than just repeating facts. This approach ensures our students develop the critical thinking skills universities and employers demand.
We are bringing the future into the classroom. Under Dennis’s leadership, the district has introduced cutting-edge curriculum in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, and Sustainability Studies. Students aren’t just reading about technology; they are constructing functional robots, designing energy-efficient appliances, and solving real-world engineering problems.
Excellence should be accessible to everyone. We have expanded our Advanced Placement (AP) program to offer over 25 courses, including significant growth in AP Computer Science and Environmental Science. Through AP-specific counseling and peer study groups, we’ve increased participation and pass rates year-over-year, ensuring every student has the opportunity to earn college credit before they graduate.
