SAFETY & MENTAL HEALTh

Our “Schools First” initiative prioritizes a comprehensive mental health ecosystem, rigorous anti-bullying policies, and upgraded campus safety infrastructure to ensure every student feels respected, secure, and ready to learn.

A Holistic Approach to Student Welfare

Dennis believes that students cannot learn if they do not feel safe. His leadership is anchored in the “Schools First” initiative, which sets a clear objective: to create a safer, more inclusive environment that covers physical security, extracurricular engagement, and mental health support. The culture of our district is built on four core values: Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, and Resilience.

We are tackling the mental health crisis head-on. Dennis has implemented a robust ecosystem that includes professional counseling (individual, group, and family services), stress management workshops, and mindfulness activities. Additionally, our Peer Mentorship Program trains older students to guide younger classmates through social challenges, ensuring no student feels isolated.

Safety requires action, not just words. We have upgraded our infrastructure with new surveillance cameras, improved lighting, and enhanced emergency protocols. But true safety is cultural. Through comprehensive anti-bullying policies and empathy workshops, we have seen a measurable drop in suspensions, referrals, and bullying complaints across the district.

STUDENT WELLFARE

WHY IT MATTERS FOR OUR COMMUNITY

When students feel physically and emotionally safe, their capacity to learn and retain information increases.

Comprehensive empathy training and clear disciplinary policies have measurably dropped bullying complaints.

Immediate access to professional counseling helps students navigate stress, anxiety, and social challenges.

Upgraded infrastructure (cameras, lighting) ensures our campuses meet modern safety standards.

Student-led inclusion clubs and sensitivity training ensure every child, regardless of background, belongs.
